Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance
Primary responsibilities involve administrative and organizational tasks relating to the operation of the Spay Program as it reaches out to the community. This position reports directly to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital Administrator, and the incumbent works closely with the other Program Coordinators in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.  This position also works closely with the faculty who are involved with the Spay Clinic Program.

Responsibilities

  • Pro-actively liaise with pet owners in the St. Kitts and Nevis communities to encourage participation in the program, thereby working to maintain an adequate number of incoming clients.
  • Work in the community with the assigned Clinician during their assessment of potential clients and their dogs.  Assist with Animal restraint as required..
  • Drive the VTH vehicle to pick up Dogs as scheduled for the Spay Clinic and provide transportation back to the owner (in both St. Kitts and Nevis).
  • Prepare schedules of activities for the portion of the Spay Program which involves reaching out into the community (St. Kitts and Nevis).
  • Create and maintain client and patient information in Avimark as required.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records regarding the scheduling of dogs for the Spay Clinic and liaising with the other program coordinators to ensure timely response.
  • Monitor patient records and ensure relevant data recorded in Medical History
  • Assist technicians/ Community Practice Administrator /Chief of Staff and Clinic Faculty in operation the Spay Program.
  • Provide support to the other Program Coordinators and assist as a backup in case of absence..
  • Acquire and maintain clinic forms needed for all procedures
  • Assist students/Clients with schedule adjustments
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Senior Program Coordinator and technicians with drop offs and check ins for Spay clinic,
  • Drive the VTH vehicle to pick up Dogs as scheduled for the Spay Clinic and provide transportation back to the owner (in both St. Kitts and Nevis).
  • Maintain excellent communication and act as a liaison between the Clinicians and pet owners, reassuring the owners as needed and delivering the necessary information and medications as prescribed.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

  • Excellent command of the English Language (written and oral)
  • Strong interest in animals (especially dogs)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Strong Administrative skills
  • Knowledge of the geography of St. Kitts and Nevis
  • Active Driver’s License and clean driving record Required
