We are seeking primarily Industry Professionals to share their knowledge and experience with undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of fields.   

NR-511:  Differential Diagnosis and Primary Care Practicum  

This course will provide students with the fundamental knowledge needed to formulate a differential diagnosis of individuals within the primary care setting, along with an introduction to critical diagnostic skills to cultivate evidence-based behaviors. An emphasis will be placed on processing client information in a logical, progressive manner and formulating differential diagnoses for individuals across the lifespan. The course will include 125 hours of supervised clinical practicum in primary care.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and provides students with an approved syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.
  • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials.
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
  • Performs/Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

  • MSN & DNP or MSN & PHD in nursing degree is required
  • Must have an active APRN license.
  • FNP certification through ANCC or AANP.
  • Compact Nursing License (multi-state) highly preferred
  • Illinois RN license required before teaching (as a condition of employment not reimburseable)
  • Possess or be willing to obtain Louisiana APRN license (reimbursable)
  • Possess or be willing to obtain Michigan RN license (reimbursable)
  • Solid clinical experience working as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
  • While teaching experience is a plus, we are always interested in speaking with nurses who have a genuine interest in teaching and the ability to engage students. 
  • Business or industry experience is required for most programs.
  • Must have required subject matter expertise and outstanding communication skills.
  • Must have excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.
  • Must be able to facilitate diverse groups
  • Very strong writing skills and able to communicate clearly and effectively in an online environment

Additional Information

Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Online:
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.

Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
