Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance
We are interested in developing long-term relationships with superior instructors who have high professional standards, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm and a commitment to providing the finest practitioner-focused education. We are seeking primarily Industry Professionals to share their knowledge and experience with undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of fields.   Courses meet once or twice a week for eight weeks. The face-to-face interaction is blended with technology (such as online discussions and online assignments) for an enhanced learning environment. Commitment is on a course-by-course basis.

Faculty in this role teach graduate-level courses within Chamberlain's innovative MSW curriculum. Courses emphasize the application of anti-racist, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and globally responsive social work practice across areas such as human behavior, policy, research, ethics, leadership, and social work practice.

Responsibilities

  • Teach asynchronous online courses and facilitate engaging learning experiences.
  • Provide timely, substantive, and individualized feedback.
  • Create instructional videos and learning resources related to course content and assignments.
  • Hold regular virtual office hours to support student success.
  • Foster critical thinking and application of social justice, equity, and anti-oppressive frameworks in practice.
  • Provides students with an approved Chamberlain syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

  • PhD, DSW, or related doctoral degree required.
  • MSW from a CSWE-accredited program required.
  • Minimum five years of post-MSW professional social work experience.
  • Expertise in anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and/or global social work practice.
  • Prior graduate-level teaching experience preferred.

Additional Information

Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Online:
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $900/Earned Credit Hour to $1,275/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.

Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
