Are you passionate about supporting nursing students and helping them build the knowledge, confidence, and clinical skills needed for success? We are seeking a Student Learning Specialist to partner with faculty, academic leaders, and students to deliver meaningful academic support and hands-on clinical learning experiences.
In this role, you will work closely with students throughout their academic journey, providing individualized coaching, tutoring, remediation, and academic reinforcement. You'll help identify learning needs, develop personalized success plans, and contribute to innovative simulation and laboratory experiences that prepare students for professional nursing practice.

What You'll Do
Clinical Learning, Skills Labs & Simulation
- Coordinate, facilitate, and supervise simulation-based experiences (SBEs) and clinical laboratory activities.
- Assist in developing and implementing realistic, clinically focused simulation scenarios, including the use of high-fidelity patient simulators.
- Ensure laboratory experiences align with course objectives and provide students with opportunities to demonstrate competency.
- Staff open laboratory sessions and provide direct oversight for student practice, skills development, and remediation activities.
- Manage simulation and laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, supply ordering, setup, and cleanup.
Student Success & NCLEX Preparation
- Provide individualized and small-group tutoring, coaching, and academic support to nursing students.
- Assess learning styles, identify strengths and growth opportunities, and develop personalized remediation plans.
- Support students throughout their academic programs and assist with preparation for the NCLEX-RN examination.
- Demonstrate current knowledge of nursing practice and NCLEX-RN content, including Next Generation NCLEX concepts.
- Assist in the development and delivery of Next Generation NCLEX activities, workshops, and learning resources.
- Conduct outreach and provide support to students identified through at-risk referral processes.
- Communicate and document student academic and co-curricular progress, reporting outcomes and recommendations to academic leadership and retention committees.
Collaboration & Service Excellence
- Partner with faculty, academic leaders, and staff to support student learning and program success.
- Deliver exceptional service through professional communication, collaboration, responsiveness, and student-centered support.
- Foster a welcoming and professional learning environment for students, colleagues, and external partners.
- Comply with all institutional policies, procedures, and standards and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- BLS/CPR Instructor certification.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively in person, by phone, and through technology-based platforms.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural, educational, and professional backgrounds.
- Collaborative team-oriented approach with a willingness to share knowledge and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing or Education.
- Simulation experience and experience supporting classroom instruction, academic success initiatives, tutoring, or student learning in a higher education environment.
- ACLS and/or PALS certification.
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $76,000 and $86,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
